BEST KNOWN FOR
Power hour, live, every trading day
Most futures streamers trade the open. Zero Day Jay trades the close. At a few minutes past 3 pm Eastern on every trading day he goes live for the last two hours of the US session, trading a stack of funded prop-firm accounts in gold and Nasdaq futures until the bell. He has screen-recorded every payout request since his first in May 2024, which took, by his own count, 61 funded Apex accounts to reach. The tutorials that grew out of that climb, on copy trading through Tradovate, setting up an Apex payout method and the cost of a Take Profit Trader reset, remain the channel’s most-watched videos. The channel itself has grown from 192 subscribers in April 2024 to about 9,400 in October 2026. Topstep had him on TopstepTV three times in 2025.
IN JAY'S WORDS
“If you still haven’t ever received a payout trading with prop firms, just know it is possible. Because if I can do it, there’s no reason you can’t.”
YouTube, May 2024 (first payout request)
“I stream every day for power hour 3-5pm EST and during London (no set time).”
X, March 2025
“I found my edge trading gold and have been trading it exclusively on all of my funded accounts since the beginning of October.”

Who is Zero Day Jay?
Zero Day Jay publishes under his handle only, and the handle is the point: a trader who started from zero and says so in the channel description. Most futures streamers trade the open. Jay trades the close. At a few minutes past 3 pm Eastern on every trading day he goes live for “power hour”, the last two hours of the US cash session. He trades a stack of funded prop-firm accounts in front of a chat he calls the Degen Fam until the bell. The channel tagline sums up the arc, “from zero to habitual payout receiver”, and the videos are the receipts: every payout request screen-recorded, the setbacks left in, and every “WE DID IT JOE” when a payout lands.
He dates the start precisely: 16 October 2023, his first Apex Trader Funding evaluation. The YouTube channel had existed since August 2022 and still had only 192 subscribers in April 2024. The next month, by his own count, it took a 61st funded Apex account to reach his first payout request. He filmed it. “If you still haven’t ever received a payout trading with prop firms, just know it is possible. Because if I can do it, there’s no reason you can’t,” he wrote underneath. The tutorials that followed became the most-watched uploads on the channel, and still are: how to copy trade on Tradovate (he is a Mac-only trader), how to set up an Apex payout method, and what a Take Profit Trader PRO reset costs.
The method evolved on camera. He traded the Nasdaq first, then found what he calls his edge in gold during 2025. From October that year he traded gold exclusively across twenty funded Apex accounts, copying one trade into all of them, until Apex paused metals trading in February 2026 and sent him back to NQ, “which I detest”. By September 2026 gold had his attention again. Along the way he collected first payouts from a widening list of firms: MyFundedFutures in October 2024, Topstep in December 2024, Take Profit Trader in March 2025, Bulenox in July 2025 and Tradeify within two weeks of opening an account in August 2026. The numbers he does state, he states in titles. A New Year’s Day 2026 stream was headed “$34K+ Payouts In December”, and a February 2026 update called “$40K Month In Jeopardy” was about chasing a second such month in a row, both by his own account.
The stream is the product. There is no course, no paid Discord and no signal room. There is the 3 pm start, a title that tells you how the day is going (“Frustration Level Peaking...”, “What A Relief... Time To bAnK...”) and the partner codes in the description. And there is a running vocabulary the regulars know by heart: #FORTHESTREAM, the DCA Gang, the Focused Degenerate Program, and “ZFG Concepts” as the tongue-in-cheek name for his approach. He adds Asia and London sessions when he has time, “no set time”, and celebrates stream records the way he celebrates payouts: 364 concurrent viewers was the mark to beat in May 2025. Topstep noticed, and had him on TopstepTV three times in the first half of 2025, including an April segment alongside CoveTrader and another where he met chief executive Michael Patak.
What makes him matter is the transparency. In January 2026 he put every Apex purchase and every payout since October 2023 on a spreadsheet and published the arithmetic. He posts the full record, approvals and denials alike, and signs off the losing days with the same energy as the winning ones. For the traders grinding evaluations after work, he is proof of a specific, unglamorous thing. A self-described degenerate who kept showing up at 3 pm every day became, in his own words, a habitual payout receiver, and the whole route is on tape.
How Jay trades
Gold and the Nasdaq, in the last two hours
Jay trades the final stretch of the US session, roughly 3 to 5 pm Eastern, which he calls power hour, plus Asia and London sessions when he has time. His instruments are gold futures (GC, and the micro MGC when the account size calls for it) and the Nasdaq-100 (NQ and MNQ). He reads key levels and waits for a bounce or a break at them, uses Fibonacci retracements on gold (the 0.786 is a favourite reference on stream), and has borrowed Tori Trades’ “tan line break” for the trend-line breaks he likes most. Targets are modest and defined: on gold evaluations he has talked about taking 31 ticks and getting out.
He has been candid that gold suits him better than the Nasdaq. From October 2025 he traded gold exclusively on all of his funded accounts and reverted to NQ only when Apex paused metals trading in early 2026. He was back on gold by September 2026 as it “started to behave very favorably” towards his strategy. The DCA Gang tag is a nod to his habit of scaling into a position rather than entering all at once.
Twenty accounts, one click, and the payout rules
The scale comes from account stacking. He has run twenty funded Apex accounts at a time, copying a single trade into all of them. Because he trades on a Mac he does it through Tradovate’s “Groups” feature rather than NinjaTrader or Quantower, a workflow he documented in his most-watched tutorial. For ProjectX firms such as Topstep and Bulenox he has a separate copy-trading walkthrough. “Pass or smash” is his name for the evaluation phase: push a cheap evaluation to target quickly or let it go.
Payout rules are the other half of the craft. He favours daily and day-1 payout structures at Take Profit Trader, times his requests to the end of the session, and has deliberately given back profit on Lucid Flex evaluations to stay inside the consistency rule. Losses are streamed too, and he frames them as tuition. As with every trader profiled here, the approach is described from his own material and is not a recommendation; futures trading involves substantial risk of loss.
See how the wider prop-trading field is positioned in NQ while you study a method like this: MarketFramework's Positioning Edge shows live long/short splits across ES, NQ, MES and MNQ from real evaluation and funded accounts, and Prop Backtest scores strategies against prop-firm rules.
