BEST KNOWN FOR
A mechanical ICT setup, called live and logged
Jay turned ICT’s Silver Bullet and session-liquidity ideas into a rules-based NQ setup simple enough to code. Within days of his June 2023 walkthrough, two TradingView developers had done just that, and the video has now passed 76,000 views. Since July 2024 he has hosted a pre-market NQ show every weekday at 8:00 am ET. His private group logs every setup it calls live.
IN JAY'S WORDS
“My philosophy is simple: No hype. No hindsight. Data, discipline, and repeatable execution.”
YouTube channel description, October 2026
“If you want to trade like a professional, you need to prepare like one.”
YouTube, February 2026
“The goal isn’t to predict every move. It’s to execute a repeatable trading model with controlled risk and positive expectancy over a large sample size.”
YouTube Short, October 2026

Who is Nexus Blast Trading?
Jay, the trader behind Nexus Blast Trading, spent his first career as a professional hockey player, and he still prepares for the market the way he prepared for games. "When I played pro hockey, preparation was everything," he says in a February 2026 video, and he lists the habits that carried over: film study, repetition, structure and discipline. Today he trades Nasdaq futures full time from Montreal, and his preparation happens in public. Every weekday at 8:00 am Eastern he goes live on YouTube to map the NQ before the New York open, marking key levels, liquidity targets and the setups that may form. He has hosted more than 550 of those sessions since July 2024.
He says he has been investing for about 20 years, and his weekly framework turns to buying when the Nasdaq or S&P 500 sweeps a significant weekly low. On a December 2024 stream he walked viewers through his careers in pro hockey and sales. He opened his X account in April 2020 and the YouTube channel that October, and in 2021 he launched nexusblast.com as a home for trading tools. The channel found its voice in May 2023 with a run of tutorials on ICT’s Silver Bullet, whose descriptions credit the Inner Circle Trader as "our mentor." In June came his full strategy walkthrough, "This is BETTER than the ICT Silver Bullet," still his most-watched video at more than 76,000 views. The same month he answered ICT’s "One Setup For Life" challenge with a live Silver Bullet trade on the five-minute chart.
The setup travelled fast. Within days of that June walkthrough, two TradingView developers had coded it. The Session Range Highs and Lows Liquidity Tracker was written by a viewer "based on a strategy I found on Nexus Blast Trading youtube channel." It has gathered more than 9,400 boosts and 62,000 views, and Jay links to it from his own resources page. A second script carries his name outright: Nexus Blast Trading Strategy. Other traders streamed and backtested the method as well, one describing it as "a hybrid ICT technique developed by Jay from Nexus blast." Jay himself distilled it into the Nexus Blast Trading Protocol, an 11-step checklist printed under the banner "Patience | Discipline | No Fear."
In January 2024 he opened the Nexus Blast private trading group, now hosted on Mighty Networks at nexusblast.pro and sold as a six-month membership. Members trade the New York session live with him. Every valid setup from his Nexus Scalp system is called in real time and logged, and the group counts more than 1,000 since January 2024. Each recorded session can be checked against a data dashboard. Six months after the launch he took the morning show public. The daily YouTube stream began on 15 July 2024, and its replays are kept in an archive for channel members. A free Discord server, also called Nexus Blast Trading, has about 900 members.
October 2026 shows the rhythm. He streamed the pre-market show on 14 of the 15 weekdays from 5 to 23 October and posted a Short almost every morning. He also returned to long-form teaching, with a refreshed Silver Bullet tutorial and an explainer on how the IPDA engineers liquidity sweeps. His site’s tagline, "Real Trades, Real Data, No Hindsight," sums up what sets him apart: setups called before they happen, and a record kept of every one. It is the same habit he carried over from hockey, where the work was done before the puck dropped.
How Jay trades
Session liquidity and the five-minute gap
The Nexus Blast method starts from ICT’s view that price travels from one pool of liquidity to the next on a clock. Jay divides the day into sessions (London, the New York morning, the New York afternoon and Asia) and treats each session’s high and low as a target. His protocol waits for price to raid a London or New York morning high or low. It then needs a break of structure whose candle body shows displacement and leaves a fair value gap on the five-minute chart. The entry comes from that gap, ideally where it builds on an earlier opposing gap (an inversion), with the stop beyond the swing that took the liquidity.
The rest of the checklist is risk discipline. It steers clear of high-impact news, pre-fills the stop and target before entry and demands at least 10 handles of room. Part of the position comes off at the 50% level of the opposing liquidity, and the stop never moves to breakeven before that partial. For timing he leans on ICT’s Silver Bullet. His October 2026 tutorial frames the 10:00 am window with a four-hour liquidity sweep and takes the first fair value gap that presents itself. Earlier in the morning, his 8 am strategy looks for the higher-timeframe liquidity pool that should draw the market’s first move.
Base hits, logged in public
Execution has become deliberately simple. His site calls the current model the Nexus Scalp system, and his 2026 tutorials teach a refined Silver Bullet entry aimed at 1:1 targets on NQ. He calls them base hits. "Nothing fancy, just base hits trading, scalping low hanging fruit targets," he wrote in October 2026. Where the 2023 protocol asked for a target of at least twice the risk, the scalp now takes the nearer target and leans on partials when price meets resistance. Sizing follows a rule he shared on X: the account’s maximum drawdown, divided by the longest losing streak a trader has had, gives the risk per trade.
The other half is temperament. He treats sitting out as a position: "Not trading is also trading," as he put it in October 2026. He recommends Tom Hougaard’s Best Loser Wins on his resources page and judges the model over a large sample rather than a single morning. As with every trader profiled here, the approach is described from his own material and is not a recommendation; futures trading involves substantial risk of loss.
See how the wider prop-trading field is positioned in NQ while you study a method like this: MarketFramework's Positioning Edge shows live long/short splits across ES, NQ, MES and MNQ from real evaluation and funded accounts, and Prop Backtest scores strategies against prop-firm rules.
