BEST KNOWN FOR
The daily live NQ stream and the twenty-account stack
Matt’s channel is built around a free live stream of Nasdaq futures at the market open, Monday to Friday. It has run for years and now carries a "crew" of other streamers under his brand. The work he is cited for most often came in 2024, when he copy-traded twenty $50,000 Apex accounts through Sierra Chart and published a run of $40,000 payouts every ten days. His most-watched 2026 video explains the philosophy behind it, "base hits." In July 2026 he announced he was going "multi-prop" across four firms while building his own trading platform, Tradester.
IN MATT'S WORDS
“I just kept telling myself daily, go back to what got you here. Base hits, no greed, extreme patience, it’s ok if you don’t see trades.”
X, May 2024
“The base-hit approach is not changing. The setup is just getting a lot bigger. More chaos. More moving parts. More upside. More fun. Same stream. More firms. A lot more accounts.”
X, July 2026
“We as traders must deal with charts, pnl, but also our Emotional Capital. It’s like a gas tank. We deplete it everyday and need some in the tank in order to execute and think through things well.”
X, May 2024

Who is Trades by Matt?
Matt Miller, who publishes as Trades by Matt, is a Nasdaq futures day trader based in the United States. He started with penny stocks as a teenager, taught himself largely from YouTube, and left a corporate job to trade full time. He tells that story in a July 2026 video, "How I Became a Full Time Trader." The channel opened in August 2017, and his most-viewed video, a 2020 strategy walkthrough, has passed 600,000 views.
What defines the channel is routine: a free live stream of NQ futures at the market open, Monday to Friday, followed by recaps on a second channel. In 2026 the stream grew into a full schedule of "crew" shows broadcast under his brand, The Joz Show and The Riha Show among them. Feedspot ranks the channel second on its list of futures-trading YouTubers, and the companion Discord, TBM’s Good Gains, is free and has close to 29,000 members.
His reputation among prop-firm traders was made in 2024, when he copy-traded twenty $50,000 Apex Trader Funding accounts through Sierra Chart’s trade copier and posted a series of $40,000 payouts roughly every ten days. By his count that came to $240,000 in payouts over sixty trading days. The run produced his second most-watched video, "How to Pass Prop Firm Evaluations," and a Words of Rizdom podcast episode titled after a remark that ICT had called him the best day trader on YouTube. The same year he entered the Robbins World Cup futures division with a $10,000 live account and sat second on the leaderboard in its first month.
In January 2025 he announced Tradester, a web-based futures trading platform with tick data and a multi-account copier that he stresses is neither a prop firm nor a brokerage. It remains in private beta. In July 2026 he said he was "officially going multi-prop," spreading his stack across Apex, Tradeify, Lucid Trading and Take Profit Trader, and reported passing five Tradeify evaluations within days. His code TBM gives his audience discounts at all four, and his comparison site, tbm.gg, gathers them in one place.
What keeps traders coming back is that none of it is packaged. Losing sessions stream alongside winning ones, and the "base hits" mantra is repeated until it sticks. The crew shows that now share his channel are a measure of how much of the futures streaming community he has quietly built. ICT called him the best day trader on YouTube; his audience would call him the most honest.
How Matt trades
Base hits, not home runs
The philosophy Miller returns to most often is the baseball metaphor in his most-watched 2026 video: take small, repeatable profits and let consistency do the work. In his own words from 2024, "base hits, no greed, extreme patience, it’s ok if you don’t see trades." In practice that meant a daily target of roughly $400 per account across the twenty accounts he ran. The discipline came from refusing to press for more once the target was reached.
He pairs that with an idea he calls emotional capital, a gas tank that every session drains and that has to be protected so there is enough left to think clearly. Losing sessions are streamed and recapped alongside winning ones, which third-party profiles single out as the channel’s distinguishing habit.
The open, the tools and the theories
He trades the Nasdaq open, scalping NQ intraday with occasional ES on Sierra Chart, a platform he moved to from Tradovate in 2023 and has documented extensively. The named techniques in his "TBM Theories" series are the Wick Test, a rejection-based entry off a candle wick, and the Initial Balance, the opening range used to frame the day. VWAP bands and depth-of-market entries fill out the toolkit.
The multi-account structure is the other half of the method. Rather than sizing up a single account, he copies one clean setup across many identical funded accounts so that the edge is repeated rather than leveraged. His prop-firm guide calls it "the stack play." As with every trader profiled here, the approach is described from his own material and is not a recommendation; futures trading involves substantial risk of loss.
See how the wider prop-trading field is positioned in NQ while you study a method like this: MarketFramework's Positioning Edge shows live long/short splits across ES, NQ, MES and MNQ from real evaluation and funded accounts, and Prop Backtest scores strategies against prop-firm rules.
