BEST KNOWN FOR
Free start-to-finish guides and Categorical Trading
Iman’s signature is the long, chaptered guide, cut from his own footage and given away free. By his count, My Final Trading Guide draws on more than 3,700 hours and 5,000 trades, packed into 93 minutes. He calls it his life’s work. Alongside it sits Categorical Trading, the price-action method he sums up in three words: categorize, adapt, trade.
IN IMAN'S WORDS
“There are only 2 paths to profitability, and neither can be bought.”
YouTube, October 2026 (How to Beat Prop Firms)
“A terrible trader can give good advice, and an excellent trader can give bad advice. All you can do is test the ideas you find.”
imantrading.org, The Complete Trading Guide
“I have no course to sell you, and I want you to succeed. I cannot possibly be more helpful.”

Who is ImanTrading?
ImanTrading reached about 338,000 YouTube subscribers without ever selling a course. He has never offered a mentorship or a private community either, and he says he never will. What he offers instead is a record. Iman filmed his own trading from his first day as a beginner, and that archive became the raw material for long, chaptered guides that he gives away. The 58 videos on his main channel have drawn more than 18 million views.
He opened the channel in May 2021 with live options trading on an opening range break, and his early tutorials found a wide audience. His 2021 supply-and-demand guide has passed 1.3 million views, and its title now tells viewers plainly that the guide doesn’t work, pointing them to his pinned comment. That candor runs through everything he has made since. In 2022 he turned to futures and opened a second channel, ImanTradingLive. There he filmed his Nasdaq sessions as numbered episodes, learning, in his words, "through pure experimentation." More than 300 videos trace the climb. Episode 3 is titled "this is as real as it gets," and episode 207, in October 2023, shows him passing his first prop-firm evaluation live on stream.
His method grew out of those sessions. In December 2022 he posted "200 trading hours later, I created a strategy," presenting a fast scalping system he now calls his first draft. The final draft arrived a year later as Categorical Trading, and its guide has passed 510,000 views. Above any single strategy sits the lesson he considers most important: there are only two paths to profitability. Systematic traders find rules that could run entirely as code. Discretionary traders build their edge from experience with one strategy. Books, videos and people, in his framing, are simply sources of ideas to test.
Everything he teaches is free. His site, imantrading.org, collects his complete trading guide, a prop-firm trading guide, firm reviews and a page on free simulation trading. It holds a 4.8 Trustpilot score from 139 reviews. For traders on the funded route, he created the Prop Firm Center, a free Discord for active prop-firm traders with about 29,100 members. It offers verified funded and paid-out roles and a running list of firm sales. By his count, more than 500 free accounts have been given away there. On his main channel, the most-watched upload is a 65-minute beginner’s guide to day trading from March 2023. He spent three months making it, he says, and it has passed 1.9 million views. On ImanTradingLive, his beginner’s guide to prop-firm trading has passed 215,000 views, and his six-minute NinjaTrader tutorial has passed 320,000.
He uploads sparingly, and each upload is a project. My Final Trading Guide, released in November 2025, runs 93 minutes and follows every phase of his learning with live clips. He calls it "the most in-depth and enormous project I’ve ever done." He says he has drawn small but consistent payouts from funded accounts since July 2024, passing $34,000 in total by the end of 2025. In March 2026 he reported his second promotion to a live funded account. He trades part time and is open about it. His October 2026 guide, How to Beat Prop Firms, applies what he calls "proven math" to evaluation strategy and drew 180,000 views in just over two weeks. What Iman gives newer traders is rare: the whole middle of a learning curve, filmed as it happened, organized into lessons and handed over for free.
How Iman trades
Categorize, adapt, trade
Categorical Trading sorts price action before any entry. When the market is consolidating, Iman expects it to stay where it has been. He trades mean reversion inside the range, selling near the top and buying near the bottom, with targets inside the range and stops outside it. When the market is directional, he expects it to keep going until proven otherwise and trades with it, never against it. When it is too chaotic to categorize, he does not trade.
Adapting means watching for the category to change. He sets ATR to a period of 1 to read volatility candle by candle, drops to a lower timeframe when volatility is high and moves up when it is quiet. Brackets start at 1:1 and are sized to the structure of the recent candles. If a trade fails, it should be because that structure changed. He grades process rather than outcome. On his own scorecard, a good trade that lost still earns "nice job," while a bad trade that won does not.
A discretionary trader with a data habit
Iman puts himself on the discretionary path. Categorical Trading has rules, but it is not automated, and he says plainly that it requires discretion. He builds that judgment with data: recorded sessions, a trading journal and a reminder document with pictures of the price action he trades well and the price action he should sit out. He warns against writing rules like these too early, because they only become clear after many sessions.
He trades Nasdaq futures through prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts on NinjaTrader, his platform since 2021. He likes the model because the cost of an evaluation is known up front: the firm takes the loss instead of the trader, and payouts can later fund a personal account. His positions last anywhere from seconds to hours, and he trades part time with regular breaks. As with every trader profiled here, the approach is described from his own material and is not a recommendation; futures trading involves substantial risk of loss.
See how the wider prop-trading field is positioned in NQ while you study a method like this: MarketFramework's Positioning Edge shows live long/short splits across ES, NQ, MES and MNQ from real evaluation and funded accounts, and Prop Backtest scores strategies against prop-firm rules.
