Who is Directionday?

Directionday has built a Spanish-language following on one conviction: trading works best when it is kept simple. The Dominican trader, who goes by Francis, calls his method the Estrategia Camarón, or Shrimp Strategy. His earliest descriptions called the approach “la manera mas sencilla y simplificada de Smart Money” [the simplest, most stripped-down way to trade Smart Money]. The shrimp is everywhere in his work, from his thumbnails to the sign-off on every video description, and on his Telegram the method goes simply by “la camaron” [the shrimp]. His January 2024 tutorial on the strategy is still the most-watched video on his channel.

He opened his Telegram channel on 8 April 2023 and began posting analysis to it the next evening. The early posts covered forex (EURUSD, AUDCAD and GBPUSD), read through liquidity and the imbalanced zones price had yet to fill. Within a week he had published his trading plan: trade from 7 to 11 am, EURUSD only, 0.5% of the account per trade and one trade a day. “De esa manera controlare mi riesgo, cuidare mi capital y mi tranquilidad mental sobre todo!” [That way I will control my risk and protect my capital, and above all my peace of mind!], he wrote. The YouTube channel followed in May. His first uploads, four live backtesting sessions posted on 31 July 2023, summed up the method in a line: two confirmations, one entry point.

The method has travelled with him across markets. In 2024 he took it to US30 and gold, released a Camarón 2.0 and began streaming the Asian session live. By autumn 2025 he had moved to futures. His explainer “Explicando futuros desde 0” [Futures explained from scratch], posted that October, is now one of his most-watched videos. A week later he published a free TradingView indicator, DIRECTIONDAY (FREE), which he describes as the indicator he uses to analyse the chart. Today the Nasdaq is his main market, traded in two windows: the New York morning and the Asian session that opens in his evening. A July 2026 video weighed the two sessions against each other.

His teaching runs on three levels, and the free one is generous. YouTube carries weekly and monthly recaps, plus long recordings of his private classes and one-on-one mentorships. On Telegram he posts his Nasdaq entries, stop sizes and targets as he takes them, in relaxed Dominican Spanish. The paid VIP opens month by month and is where members trade live with him every day. Beyond that, he opens a handful of one-on-one mentorship places at a time. Around it all run Instagram Lives, Google Meet sessions and travel vlogs, from 72 hours in Santo Domingo to 96 in Punta Cana with fellow traders.

What sets Directionday apart is how much he shows. He posts his stop-outs as readily as his winners and puts recordings of his mentorship sessions online for anyone to watch. His advice to newer traders keeps returning to patience, a written plan and protecting capital. The audience has followed him across platforms, with nearly 13,000 subscribers on Telegram, 42,600 followers on Instagram and 9,400 on YouTube. For Spanish-speaking traders who want Smart Money concepts and Nasdaq futures explained plainly, in their own language and by someone trading alongside them, he has become a daily presence.

How Francis trades

Direction first, then the entry

His first upload was titled “Como tener direccion y entrada en el mercado” [How to get direction and an entry in the market], and that order is the method. Directionday reads the chart for liquidity and for imbalanced zones “que el precio todavía no ha llenado” [that price has not yet filled]. He then waits for the market to take liquidity before looking for an entry. A setup needs two confirmations before it earns its single entry point.

The Shrimp Strategy packages that logic for different horizons. In July 2024 he described it as three sets in one, covering swing trading, scalping and day trading. A September 2026 video presents liquidity as the key to reading the market’s direction. On the chart he works with his own free TradingView indicator, published in October 2025.

Two sessions, tight stops, 1:3 targets

On Nasdaq futures he trades two windows: the New York morning and the Asian session, which opens in the evening in the Dominican Republic. His Telegram posts give the numbers for each trade. Stops run roughly 15 to 35 points on a one- or five-minute chart. Once a trade is working, the stop moves to breakeven. Targets sit at three or four times the risk and are sometimes trailed further. His September 2026 lesson “Nunca busques 1:1” [Never look for 1:1] makes the case for aiming well beyond the amount at risk.

The trades run on prop-firm accounts. A February 2026 tutorial walks step by step through replicating trades across funded accounts, and his Linktree points to Tradesyncer for the same job. The habits of his first written plan, a defined stop and only a trade or two a day, still show in his posts. As with every trader profiled here, the approach is described from his own material and is not a recommendation; futures trading involves substantial risk of loss.

See how the wider prop-trading field is positioned in NQ while you study a method like this: MarketFramework's Positioning Edge shows live long/short splits across ES, NQ, MES and MNQ from real evaluation and funded accounts, and Prop Backtest scores strategies against prop-firm rules.
