IN AARON'S WORDS

“Everything you want in trading is on the other side of getting to consistency.”

Trading Nut podcast, April 2020

“The goal isn’t to find a perfect entry. It’s to build an entry process that gives your trade idea enough room to work, without taking unnecessary risk.”

YouTube, September 2026 (Chart Therapy)

“Most of us fail at trading not because of the market but simply because we’ve been taught to pay attention to the wrong things.”

Who is Aaron Korbs?

Aaron Korbs tells his own story plainly: no high-school diploma, "from nowhere Arkansas," pressure-washing windows in his hometown while he scraped together his first $10,000 for the markets and lost it. What followed was the education every retail trader recognises: funded accounts burned, money paid to gurus, late nights on YouTube, until Volume Profile clicked. "I felt like a blind man regaining sight," he wrote in his September 2026 letter to new students. He has traded S&P 500 futures with it ever since.

He opened his YouTube channel in February 2018 and built it on tutorials that still draw traffic years later. A 2019 Sierra Chart Volume Profile setup video is past 140,000 views, "Profiting From The Profile" past 110,000, and an order-flow and market-depth explainer past 85,000. His 2022 review of being funded for $300,000 at Apex Trader Funding is one of the most-watched prop-firm testimonials on the platform. Around the content he founded Tradacc and The Profile Method, a development programme with live Zoom calls, daily market breakdowns, accountability coaches and one-to-one coaching. Alongside it sits the Funding Accelerator, a step-by-step route to passing prop-firm evaluations with a single VWAP-based strategy.

In May 2022 he launched the Speculators Podcast, and within a year it had done what no one else had. In February 2023 he sat down in person with Inner Circle Trader for the reclusive educator’s first face-to-face interview, an episode that has now passed 1.17 million views. Fifty-four numbered episodes and thirteen "Supercut" compilations later, the guest list reads like the syllabus of a trading degree: Al Brooks, Jack Schwager, Jason Shapiro, Topstep chief executive Michael Patak, Brian Shannon, Tom Basso, Jared Tendler, Merritt Black, Humbled Trader, Anthony Crudele, Roderick Casilli, Bran Barrett and Matt "Pax" Kenah among them.

Korbs’s own approach is short-term intraday trading of the E-mini and Micro E-mini S&P during regular hours, two to four hours a day, with no overnight risk. His 2026 output has focused on the practical layer of the method: which timeframes matter for daily, micro and composite profiles, the "Line in the Sand" composite trade, double-distribution days. In September 2026 he added Chart Therapy, a new series in which he reviews individual traders’ charts on camera, and an explainer on CME’s new nano ES contract that became his fastest-growing upload of the year.

He signs every video the same way, "Happy Trading & Don’t Do Anything Crazy!!", and the phrase captures the appeal. Korbs is the trader who came from nothing, found one method, and has spent eight years explaining it patiently to anyone who will listen. Along the way he has quietly assembled the most complete oral history of modern futures trading that exists on YouTube.

How Aaron trades

Volume Profile as the map

The Profile Method starts from auction market theory: the market’s job is to find where business gets done, and Volume Profile records it. Korbs works from three profiles (the daily, the "micro" intraday profile and the composite built across sessions) and reads them for value areas, high-volume nodes where the auction accepted price, and low-volume gaps where it did not. The composite "Line in the Sand" is the level that separates one regime from another and gives his highest-conviction trades.

Order flow and VWAP are the execution layer: footprint charts and a Bookmap-style heatmap to confirm participation at a level, VWAP to frame the day’s mean. His Funding Accelerator strips this down to a single VWAP-based setup designed to pass evaluations without overtrading.

Short sessions, one market, no overnight risk

He trades the E-mini S&P 500 and the Micro E-mini, and now the new nano ES, which he sees as a tool for risk management and live strategy testing. He works US regular hours only, typically two to four hours a day, and closes everything before the bell. Consistency, in his framing, is the whole game: "Everything you want in trading is on the other side of getting to consistency."

Charts run on TradingView for beginners and Sierra Chart, TickBlaze or Bookmap for order flow. As with every trader profiled here, the method is described from his own material and is not a recommendation; futures trading involves substantial risk of loss.

See how the wider prop-trading field is positioned in ES while you study a method like this: MarketFramework's Positioning Edge shows live long/short splits across ES, NQ, MES and MNQ from real evaluation and funded accounts, and Prop Backtest scores strategies against prop-firm rules.
